Job summary

Plainfield Park District is seeking an enthusiastic Specialty Sports Camps Instructor to lead basketball lessons and camps. You will develop progressive curricula, coach youth of varying skill levels, and ensure safety and fun during every session.

Responsibilities include evaluating participant progress, communicating with parents, keeping attendance and incident reports, and upholding park district policies.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ years of age.
• 4 years of teaching/coaching experience in the assigned sport; ability to teach basic to advanced skills.
• CPR certification current (District provides training if needed).
• Experience working with youth in a recreation setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement progressive curriculum for basketball lessons and camps.
• Lead lessons for participants of varying skill levels and ages.
• Evaluate participant skill and adjust curriculum accordingly.
• Greet parents and youth, ensure proper sign-in/out and safety.
• Communicate with parents/guardians about daily activities and progress.
• Follow park district rules, maintain equipment and attend staff meetings.
