Job summary

Plainfield Park District seeks a basketball instructor to lead private lessons on Tuesdays from 6:00–9:00 p.m. and Sundays from 9:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m. during 11/01–12/06, delivering a progressive curriculum and ensuring safety and fun for youth.

You will evaluate skill levels, coordinate with parents, and maintain equipment and sessions according to park district rules. The role requires strong communication and a positive coaching approach.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement progressive curriculum for the assigned lessons, incorporating safety in each session.
• Evaluate participant skill and interest level, updating curriculum based on evaluations.
• Lead lessons, balance time between participants of different skill levels.
• Demonstrate skills, set a positive example for youth.
• Greet parents and youths, sign in/out participants.
• Communicate daily activities and progress to parents/guardians.
• Enforce park district rules and policies.
• Follow schedules and rosters; weather variances approved by supervisor.
• Complete attendance and incident reports and notify supervisor.
