Job summary

Greenville Recreation & Parks Department is seeking Youth Athletics Site Attendants to set up, supervise games, enforce park rules, and help keep participants safe with clear judgment and teamwork.

Shifts include evenings and weekends; applicants must be 18+ and hold First Aid/CPR within 60 days of hire, with the ability to lift 50+ pounds. This is outdoor work across varying weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service orientation and ability to handle inquiries professionally.
• Ability to identify and resolve conflicts and document it appropriately.

Responsibilities

• Arrive 30 minutes prior to scheduled game time with necessary equipment.
• Organize equipment and set up fields to ensure games start on time.
• Check playing areas for hazards and address issues; report promptly.
• Maintain league and park rules and safety standards.
• Remain unbiased and avoid verbal confrontations.
• Break down fields, pick up trash, and complete end-of-shift paperwork.
• Monitor and promote good sportsmanship among participants, spectators, and staff.
• Provide courteous customer service and leadership at the facility.
• Review department and league policies to handle situations effectively.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

The Greenville Recreation & Parks Department (GRPD) is currently recruiting Youth Athletics Site Attendants. This position will set up, clean up, oversee, and ensure league and park rules are being properly enforced using rule knowledge and consistent judgment. This position will work with other personnel to maintain a safe environment for participants and perform other miscellaneous duties.

Minimum Age: 18 years old, at the time of application

Hours: Monday - Friday between the hours of 5:00 pm and 9:00 pm, Saturday between the hours of 7:00 am - 3:00 pm and Sunday between the hours of 12:00pm and 6:00pm. The hours are flexible, pending program schedules.

Terms: September to May

Requirements:

• First Aid/CPR certification (required within 60 days of hire)
• Must be able to lift and/or carry more than 50 pounds
• This position requires working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
