Job summary

The City of Greenville's Recreation & Parks Department is hiring part-time Athletic Operations Assistants to support athletic events and tournaments at the North Recreational Complex. Responsibilities include monitoring facility conditions, identifying safety concerns, coordinating with staff, and ensuring a safe, organized, and welcoming environment for participants and visitors.

Minimum Age Requirement: 17 years old, by December 1, 2026.

Responsibilities

• Assist with pre-event facility setup and post-event teardown.
• Facilitate onsite communication with event stakeholders and staff.

• Support parking flow and gate management during large events.
• Document facility attendance and complete accident reports.
• Assist with opening and closing procedures of the complex.
• Monitor facility for safety or maintenance concerns during events.
• Maintain a clean, safe working environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

The City of Greenville's Recreation & Parks Department is hiring part-time Athletic Operations Assistants to support athletic events and tournaments at the North Recreational Complex. Responsibilities include monitoring facility conditions, identifying safety concerns, coordinating with staff, and ensuring a safe, organized, and welcoming environment for participants and visitors. Ideal candidates are responsible, organized, detail-oriented, and customer service-focused.

Minimum Age Requirement: 17 years old, by December 1, 2026

Requirements

• Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification required or must obtain within 60 days of hire
• Valid driver's license issued by N.C. or another state
• Must be able to work non-traditional hours to include early mornings, late nights, and weekends in an outdoor environment with various weather conditions
• Must be able to lift and carry items up to 70 pounds frequently such as team benches, bleachers, soccer/lacrosse goals, etc.
• Previous experience working in recreational, athletic, or event operations settings (paid or volunteer), such as sports facilities, camps, tournaments, community recreation programs, or other related areas is highly preferred, but not required
• Previous supervisory experience is highly preferred, but not required
