Job summary

Lebo Baptist Church in Lebo, Kansas is seeking a Full-Time Youth/Associate Pastor to lead our Middle and High School ministries and to preach 3–6 times a year. The role includes developing a vibrant volunteer base and aligning with the church’s mission: Know Jesus, Grow with Jesus, Go make Disciples.

The position offers 30 hours/week for youth leadership plus 10–20 hours for preaching, discipleship, and community involvement, with relocation to Lebo required.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years in youth ministry.
• Bachelor’s degree in ministry/theology or equivalent.
• A passion and desire to lead youth.
• Experience in leading & growing teams.
• The desire and ability to fill the pulpit 3-6 times a year.
• Agreeance with LBC’s statement of beliefs.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Must re-locate to Lebo, KS.

The bulk of this position will be focused with our Middle school and High school Youth Group, there will be additional responsibilities that match the giftings and passions of the applicant: preaching, discipleship, teaching and ultimately making much of Jesus in Lebo, Kansas!

Ministry Context

Lebo Baptist Church has been serving Lebo Kansas for over 125 years. Lebo is a small rural town of around 800 people, we are situated in an amazing location only 15 minutes from Emporia, 15 minutes from Burlington, 25 minutes from Ottawa and about an hour from: Topeka, Lawrence, Kansas City and Wichita. Nothing is ever to far away! In the last 3 years LBC has seen the hand of God continue to move in our area, we have historically been a church congregation of 15-30 active attenders on any given Sunday. In the last 5 years we have seen God consistently increase our reach to a congregation currently averaging 250 attenders on a Sunday morning and a Wednesday night youth groups of around 25 (K-5), 15 (Middle School) and 15 (Highschool). There is so much potential to continue to steward and grow what God has given us in every area of the ministry!

Ministry Culture

We are a church that is staff lead and leadership team protected. We have 1 other full-time position in our lead pastor. We have several other part-time positions that help to fulfill the mission and ninistry of the church! We all work and live as one big family! The ministry culture is engaged, loving, hard-working, discipleship heavy, covered in prayer and a huge focus on making much of JESUS!

Detailed Job Description

Leadership of the Youth Group (Middle School & High School): (30 Hours/WK)

• Maintaining all current ministry (i.e. Summer Camps, Mission Trips, Wednesday Nights, Lock-Ins, Worship Nights, etc.)
• Growing the ministry. Both in size and spiritual maturity.
• Creating a vibrant volunteer base.
• Running with the vision of a youth Leadership Team

Other Responsibilities: (10-20 Hours/WK)

• Preaching. Supporting lead pastor in preaching 3-6 times per year.
• Discipleship. Actively discipling other men and families in the church.
• Community Involvement: Being an active member of the community, school and events to further the mission of the church in Lebo. Being active at sporting events for the youth. Living in the community.
• Community Groups: Being active in a community group and eventually leading a community group.

Random Responsibilities

There will be times that the Lead Pastor will need additional support as things come up throughout the year. The Youth Pastor needs to be willing to help the Lead Pastor in any ways that are needed.

Compensation Package

Based on Experience and Qualification of the individual: $35,000-$42,000
