Job summary

Bay State Community Services is seeking a passionate Youth Advocate to provide direct support to adolescents facing mental and behavioral health challenges. The role partners with youth, staff, and collaterals to ensure safety, promote resilience, and help youths achieve their goals.

Youth Advocates work on developing daily living and interpersonal skills, apply culturally competent practice, and participate in treatment planning and de-escalation when needed; driving is required for program

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year experience working with adolescents preferred.
• Residential experience preferred.
• Experience with systems (e.g. DMH, DCF) preferred.
• Be able to learn and perform CPI de-escalation techniques.

Responsibilities

• Driving is required for program coverage.
• Supervise and maintain the safety of adolescents aged 12–18.
• Support youth with daily living and interpersonal skills.
• Deliver services in a culturally competent manner.
• Implement interventions aligned with treatment goals.
• Participate in de-escalation and, when needed, physical interventions.
