Job summary

Face to Face Health & Counseling Services, Inc. seeks a Youth Advocate to be the first point of contact at SafeZone, our drop-in center for youth experiencing homelessness in Saint Paul, Minnesota.

The role provides individualized support and basic needs assistance (meals, personal hygiene, shower and laundry) and follow-up to help youth move toward stable housing. This part-time position is 20 hours per week and involves front-desk tasks, crisis response, data collection, and coordination with

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• BA in social services preferred; degree not required with relevant experience.
• Minimum of 2 years working with homeless or at-risk youth.
• Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment.

Responsibilities

• Manage front desk tasks at Safe Zone.
• Provide customer service while checking youth in and answering phones.
• Engage with youth respectfully and connect them with center/community resources.
• Respond to crises and de-escalate situations calmly.
• Maintain daily flow: clothing closet, supplies, and spaces.
• Support food service including packing lunches and serving meals.
• Lead volunteers and youth programming.
• Collect data and complete paperwork.
• Refer youth to agencies for supportive services and housing stability.
