Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous experience working with children in childcare, camps, recreation, education, hospitality, or youth programming preferred.
  • CPR and First Aid Certification preferred or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.
  • Experience in private clubs, recreation centers, schools, or hospitality environments preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise children participating in youth programs, childcare services, camps, and special events.
  • Create a fun, safe, and welcoming environment that encourages participation and positive interactions.
  • Engage children in age-appropriate games, crafts, educational activities, and recreational programming.
  • Build positive relationships with children, parents, guardians, members, and guests.
  • Provide exceptional service while responding professionally to member questions and requests.
  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and family-friendly atmosphere.
  • Assist with the setup, execution, and cleanup of youth programs, camps, seasonal activities, and Club events.
  • Prepare activity materials, crafts, games, and program supplies prior to scheduled activities.
  • Support themed events, holiday programming, and family activities throughout the year.
  • Encourage participation while ensuring all activities are conducted safely.
  • Assist with check-in and check-out procedures as assigned.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all children participating in youth programs.
  • Maintain appropriate child supervision ratios in accordance with Club policies.
  • Follow all Youth Department procedures regarding participant supervision, emergency response, and incident reporting.
  • Maintain awareness of participant allergies, medical concerns, and special accommodations.
  • Respond calmly and appropriately to accidents, illnesses, behavioral concerns, or emergencies.
  • Communicate incidents promptly to the Youth Program Manager or Coordinator.
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and presentation of the Youth Activities Room and surrounding areas.
  • Sanitize toys, games, furniture, equipment, and activity materials according to departmental standards.
  • Organize supplies and notify management when inventory replenishment is needed.
  • Assist in maintaining activity rooms that are clean, safe, organized, and member-ready throughout the day.
  • Report maintenance or safety concerns promptly.
  • Work collaboratively with the Youth Department and other Club departments to support Club programming.
  • Attend required meetings, departmental training sessions, and safety training.
  • Maintain professional appearance, uniform standards, and positive attitude.
  • Follow all Club policies, procedures, and service standards.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Position Summary

The Youth Activities Room Attendant is responsible for creating a safe, engaging, and welcoming environment for children participating in the Club's youth programs. This position supervises daily youth activities, assists with organized games, crafts, and special events, and provides attentive care while ensuring a positive experience for children and their families.

Working closely with the Youth Program Manager and Youth Program Coordinator, the Youth Activities Room Attendant helps maintain a clean, organized, and member-ready activity space while delivering exceptional service consistent with Broken Sound Club's standards.

Essential Responsibilities
Youth Supervision & Member Experience
  • Supervise children participating in youth programs, childcare services, camps, and special events.
  • Create a fun, safe, and welcoming environment that encourages participation and positive interactions.
  • Engage children in age-appropriate games, crafts, educational activities, and recreational programming.
  • Build positive relationships with children, parents, guardians, members, and guests.
  • Provide exceptional service while responding professionally to member questions and requests.

Program Support

Physical Requirements

The physical demands described here are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
