TEGNA Inc. in Sacramento is seeking a dynamic Lifestyle Show Host for Your California Life. This part-time role requires engaging audiences, conducting interviews, and creating entertaining, informative content across daily lifestyle segments.

You will host a half-hour show, book guests, pitch ideas, and collaborate with the sales and production teams. Strong on-camera presence, rapid improvisation, and solid writing/communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in broadcasting, hosting, or public speaking.
• Strong cold reading skills and the ability to deliver lines naturally with minimal preparation.
• Excellent verbal and writing abilities; advertorial writing a plus.
• Ability to work under pressure with assigned deadlines.
• High energy, improvisation and storytelling skills.
• Comprehensive understanding of social media.

Responsibilities

Lifestyle Show Host

TEGNA owned KXTV-TV has an excellent, flexible opportunity for a talented Lifestyle Show Host to engage audiences, conduct compelling interviews, and create entertaining, informative content for daily lifestyle/sales show, Your California Life. You will be collaborating with the team on sponsored and non-sponsored content that plays on multiple platforms. You must be dynamic, charismatic, and quick‑thinking! This part‑time role requires a strong on‑camera presence, friendly demeanor, the ability to cold read scripts with ease, and a natural flair for creativity and improvisation.

Responsibilities

Essential Daily Functions

• Work the hours based on your assigned schedule.
• Attend and contribute to daily YCL pre‑show meetings. Review scripts in‑depth and present thoughts and ideas to producers. Attend daily post‑show and planning meetings.
• Create digital content daily.
• This is a part‑time position, Monday‑Friday 9:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.

Requirements

• Valid driver's license
• 3‑5 years in broadcasting, hosting, or public speaking (TV, radio, or digital media preferred).
• Strong cold reading skills and the ability to deliver lines naturally with minimal preparation.
• A creative mindset with a passion for storytelling and branding.
• High energy, confidence, and the ability to improvise and adapt in live environments.
• Comprehensive understanding of social media
• Must have excellent verbal and writing abilities: Experience in advertorial writing a plus.
• Must have the ability to work under pressure with assigned deadlines
• Ability to interact productively and positively with fellow employees
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with an understanding of client relationships.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.
• Ability to multi‑task and handle special assignments, including community outreach and sales‑driven content.

Pay Range

$35 - $40 USD
