Job summary

Auberle is seeking a Young Adult Support Specialist to work in downtown Pittsburgh, providing direct support to youth transitioning from foster care or facing housing instability. The role emphasizes building trusting relationships and promoting participation in drop-in center programs.

Responsibilities include outreach, transportation assistance, and thorough documentation. Evening or weekend hours and local travel are expected to support youth across community settings.

Qualifications

• Act 33/34 and FBI Clearances required.
• High school diploma/GED accepted and one year of experience working with youth.

• Facilitate and promote various programs occurring at the drop-in center to engage young people and meet their diverse needs.
• Effectively communicate with other providers and partners who visit the drop-in center to establish and maintain the community collaboration.
• Support the youth by transporting them to appointments and/or activities as needed.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation to ensure effective tracking and reporting.

Program Description

The 412 Youth Zone is located in downtown Pittsburgh. The program provides comprehensive, welcoming, and youth driven services and support to young adults transitioning out of the foster care system or who are experiencing unstable housing.

Location and Travel Requirements:

This position is primarily located in Downtown Pittsburgh. All positions are also expected to come to training, meetings, and other events at Main Campus in McKeesport, as scheduled.

The travel required for this position is regular.

Qualifications: Position Requirements:

• Act 33/34 and FBI Clearances required.
• High school diploma/GED accepted and one year of experience working with youth.
• Valid PA driver’s license, vehicle, registration, and proof of insurance.
• Requires travel to youth homes and throughout the community.
• Involves exposure to tobacco smoke, domestic animals, household pests, and other conditions common to domestic environments.
• Requires working varied hours, including evenings, some weekends and holidays.
