Job summary

The Salina Family YMCA is seeking a Y’s Kids Counselor to support the SACC program, working under the SACC Director to provide a safe, engaging experience for children and parents, aligned with YMCA core values.

The role involves supervising activities, taking attendance, coordinating with the Lead Counselor, following safety guidelines, and maintaining accurate records. Part-time, hourly; CPR/FA within 30 days required.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Lead Counselor: at least 18 with high school diploma or GED.
• 1 year of college or equivalent in education, childcare, or youth programming.
• CPR/FA certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize the safety and needs of children at all times.
• Plan, supervise, and participate in activities.
• Take daily attendance; sign-in/out for full days.
• Record medication notes and keep participant packets updated.
• Administer first aid and document appropriately.
• Maintain clean, safe facilities and assist with snacks.
• Communicate with staff and follow YMCA rules.
