Job summary

Wyffels Hybrids in Geneseo, IL invites undergrad students in agronomy-related fields to join as Yield Trial Specialist Intern. This paid internship offers hands-on experience in corn breeding, seed production, and trial management across lab, field sites, and nurseries.

Housing is provided for qualified interns. The program runs May 17, 2027 through August 6, 2027, with flexible time frame and potential for full-time opportunities in the research operations team after completion.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate Sophomore or Junior in Agronomy or related field.
• Experience in agriculture, production, or field research preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical fieldwork.

Responsibilities

• Assist with yield trial testing, pollinating, and detasseling.
• Support data collection, note-taking, and organization of research information.
• Help maintain and service lab and field equipment.
• Assist in seed processing and nursery operations.
• Participate in field days, hybrid promotions, and other special projects.
• Collaborate with research team members and seasonal staff to learn field operations and trial management.
