Job summary

Teledyne Technologies Incorporated is seeking a Process/Manufacturing/Quality Engineer to improve product yield across advanced production lines. You will collect and analyze data, perform failure analysis, and implement corrective actions to enhance reliability.

The role requires experience in data analytics, DOE/ANOVA, and cross-functional collaboration with engineering and operations teams. U.S. citizenship or permanent residency is required.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in engineering or science; M.S. preferred.
  • 2+ years experience as a Process, Manufacturing, Quality, or Design Engineer.
  • U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency required.

Responsibilities

  • Improve product yield and manufacturing efficiency across advanced tech lines.
  • Collect, track, and analyze process/metrology data to guide yield improvements.
  • Perform failure analysis to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Generate yield dashboards and reports for management and engineering teams.
  • Collaborate across engineering and operations to drive improvements.
  • Apply structured problem-solving methodologies (Kepner-Tregoe, DMAIC, 8D, 6-sigma).

Job Description

Under the supervision of the Detector Yield and Integration Engineering Manager, the individual in this position will be responsible for improving product yield and ensuring manufacturing efficiency across advanced technology production lines. This role involves the collection, tracking, and analysis of process and metrology data from a variety of sources to inform and guide the team’s design and yield improvement activities. A significant aspect of this position also includes direct involvement in device failure analysis, identifying root causes of defects, and implementing corrective actions to optimize performance and reliability. The individual will need to work effectively in a high-performance team environment collaborating with multiple contributors across the spectrum of relevant engineering and operational disciplines. Must demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills. A flexible, self-motivated, results oriented mindset is essential.

The ideal candidate will have the following experience:

  • Data analysis and reporting
  • Monitor wafer and die yield performance using SPC and MES systems
  • Analyze electrical test data and defect density trends using JMP, Python, MATLAB or similar SQL database query experience
  • Generate yield dashboards and reports for management and engineering teams
  • Failure analysis and yield improvement
  • Structured problem-solving methods (Kepner Tregoe, DMAIC, 8D, 6-sigma, etc.)
  • Design of experiments (DOE / ANOVA)
  • Optical microscopy SEM / FIB / EDX Profilometry, ellipsometry Elemental analysis methods Fault isolation techniques
  • Other desired areas of knowledge: Semiconductor wafer processing (photolithography, etch, deposition, surface clean, CMP, inspection, etc.) Vacuum technology Infrared imaging Hermetic packaging

Required:

  • B.S. in engineering or science, M. S. preferred 2+ years experience as a Process, Manufacturing, Quality, or Design Engineer
  • Must be US Citizen or Perm Resident

The anticipated salary range listed for this role is only an estimate.
