Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor is seeking a seasoned Defect Reduction Engineer to drive yield improvement and process stability in their Texas fab. You will lead NPI defect strategies, perform root-cause analyses, and coordinate with YE, PIE, and UP teams to establish BKMs for SWLY reduction.

You will also act as a technical liaison for foundry customers and support technology transfers from Samsung HQ. The role requires 5+ years in semiconductor defect monitoring/reduction, strong data mining

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of semiconductor process engineering experience in defect monitoring, reduction, or yield.
• Strong data mining and troubleshooting abilities to identify root causes and drive corrective actions.

Responsibilities

• Lead defect reduction strategies for NPI and ramp-up, defining inspection methodologies.
• Perform deep-dive correlation analyses to identify underperforming equipment and mitigate excursions.
• Collaborate with YE, PIE, UP teams to establish BKMs and reduce SWLY.
• Serve as liaison to foundry customers and transfer new technologies from Samsung HQ.
