Job summary

The United Nations Secretariat, Department of Political and Peacebuilding Affairs, seeks a Regional Expert to join a Panel of Experts. The role supports sanctions related to Yemen, monitoring measures, and investigating alleged violations, reporting to the Committee and the Security Council.

The expert analyses regional positions, collaborates with other panel members, drafts recommendations, and contributes to midterm and final reports.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in military science, political science, international relations, law, or journalism.
• Ten years of progressively responsible experience, including at least three in the field.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Monitor sanctions measures and investigate alleged violations related to Yemen.
• Analyze regional and international stakeholder engagement and prepare recommendations.
• Contribute to midterm and final reports to the Committee and Security Council.
• Draft correspondence, archive information, and participate in investigative missions.
• Ensure adherence to UN rules, safety, security, and travel procedures.
