Job summary

Green Corps is a yearlong, paid training program that provides classroom instruction and field experience to launch a career in organizing. Over the year, Organizers will run campaigns across the United States, test skills on campuses and in communities, and fundraise while building support for environmental campaigns.

The program includes eight weeks of classroom training on recruiting volunteers, developing strategic campaigns, and gaining media exposure.

Qualifications

• No prior organizing experience required.
• Passion for protecting the environment and dedicating your career to environmental advocacy and organizing work.
• Strong communication skills, including writing, public speaking and working with others one-on-one and in a group.
• Leadership experience on campus or in your community.
• Flexibility to adjust plans when campaigns change and to work across multiple locations.

Responsibilities

• Run three to five campaigns across the year in multiple locations nationwide.
• Run a grassroots canvass office, hiring and managing canvass staff.
• Provide eight weeks of classroom training on recruiting, training volunteers and developing strategic campaigns.
• Gain the skills to launch an organizing career and connect graduates with organizing jobs.
• Operate with discretion and independent judgment in matters of significance.
