National Grid invites motivated students to join its Risk Management and Shared Treasury internship in Hicksville, NY. You will assist daily with credit exposure monitoring and financial statement analyses, while supporting fixed-price gas transaction reporting and verification of trading tickets.

You’ll also gain exposure to procurement strategies across power and gas departments, with a hybrid work model and the potential for additional hours during school breaks.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled as a full-time student during Fall 2026, Spring 2027, and Fall 2027 semesters, with an expected graduation date of December 2027 or later.
• Availability to begin on program start date, Monday, December 7, 2026
• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Business Analytics, Information Systems, Risk Management, Finance, International Business, Taxation or related majors
• Accumulated 18 or more credits and be at least 18 years of age
• Work authorization that does not now or in the future require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the United States
• Located within a commutable distance to the identified work location of Hicksville, NY

Responsibilities

• Assist with the daily monitoring of National Grid's credit exposure to multiple counterparties, while conducting several financial statements analyses.
• Contribute to the daily reporting of fixed-price physical natural gas transactions to indices and verify trading tickets and Allegro deal entries.
• Become familiar with procurement strategies supported by a high level of efficiency within our power and gas departments.

The Risk Management and Shared Treasury team is responsible for identifying, analyzing, and addressing risks that could impact our organization. By mitigating various risks within price and confirmation, this team ensures that our operations are running efficiently and proactively. Additionally, this team works to verify, reconcile, and update accounts by reviewing discrepancies and ensuring accurate and reliable data is maintained at all times. Lastly, in analyzing counterparty credit worthiness, including the preparation of credit reviews, they are able to monitor daily risk control processes.

As an intern in this role, you will assist with the daily monitoring of National Grid's credit exposure to multiple counterparties, while conducting several financial statements analyses throughout. In addition, you will also contribute to the daily reporting of fixed-price physical natural gas transactions to indices and collaborate closely with traders to verify the accuracy of trading tickets and Allegro deal entries. Lastly, in this role you will become familiar with procurement strategies supported by a high level of efficiency within our power and gas departments.

Qualified applicants will be kept to a maximum of 20 hours per week while school is in session, with the possibility of more hours on winter and summer breaks and must commit to an internship experience of at least one year in duration.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), SQL. VBA and Power BI are a plus.
• Solution-driven, creative and have the ability to work both independently and in group settings
• Able to maintain a strong attention to detail and are able to communicate with several stakeholders in and outside of the organization.

This Internship opportunity is classified as Hybrid, meaning in person work is required less than 2-3 days a week. More Information

Salary Range $22.00 -$35.00 an hour

National Grid will not be providing visa sponsorship for this position now or in the future. You must have the ability to work without a need for current or future visa sponsorship.

Please note that as a Intern, you must reside within our existing footprint, which includes Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Maine, Rhode Island, and Vermont. You must also reside within a reasonable, commutable distance to your assigned primary office.
