Responsibilities

• Assists in preparation, laying out, marking and maintenance of athletic fields or parks
• Removes snow from sidewalks, parking lots and recreational areas
• Operates power driven tools and equipment such as saws, compressors, drills, mixers, pumps, and lawn mowing equipment
• Uses hand tools such as shovels and rakes in ground maintenance and beautification work
• Loads and unloads vehicles and trucks
• Acts as flagperson on highway jobs, directs trucks
• Performs general clean-up work including garbage and debris removal
• Trims shrubs, cuts brush, plants trees and maintains grounds
• Assists in installation and maintenance of traffic signs and markings
• Washes walls/windows and performs building/cleaning tasks
• May assist with painting and unskilled carpentry
• May assist in minor mechanical maintenance or equipment repairs and servicing
• May assist in road/utility/drainage construction and maintenance including digging, backfilling, and paving tasks
