Job summary

Phelps-Clifton Springs Central School District is seeking a Substitute Groundskeeper to support grounds and recreation area maintenance. Responsibilities include operating equipment such as trucks and mowers, mowing, weed trimming, litter control, and planting of trees and shrubs.

Additional duties include snow removal, upkeep of recreation areas, basic repairs to facilities and equipment, and janitorial tasks when not assigned to groundskeeping.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• One year of full-time paid experience, five years preferred.
• Possession of a valid NYS Operator’s License.
• Must meet Civil Service requirements.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment such as trucks, tractors, mowers, weed cutters, etc. for grounds and recreation areas.
• Perform routine grounds maintenance: mowing, cutting, weed trimming, and raking grass.
• Keep grounds free of litter; plant and maintain trees, shrubs, and plants.
• Remove snow and ice from walks, pathways, and steps; maintain recreation areas (field, diamond, playgrounds).
• Perform general repairs and maintenance to equipment, facilities, and buildings (painting, cleaning, upkeep).
• When not working as Groundskeeper, perform janitorial and cleaning duties.
• Other duties as assigned by the Director of Facilities.

The Phelps-Clifton Springs Central School District has an openingfor a Substitute Groundskeeper. The successful candidate's duties will include but not be limitedto:

• Operate a variety of equipment such as trucks, tractors, mowers, weed cutters, etc. in the maintenance and care of grounds and recreation areas;
• Perform routine grounds maintenance activities such as mowing, cutting, weed trimming, and raking grass;
• Keep grounds free of litter;
• Plant and maintain trees, shrubs, and plants;
• Remove snow and ice from walks, pathways, and steps;
• Maintain recreation areas such as the football field, baseball diamond, playgrounds, and other recreation areas;
• Perform general repairs and maintenance to equipment, facilities, and buildings such as, but not limited to, painting, cleaning, and upkeep or other manual work;
• When not working as Groundskeeper, perform janitorial and cleaning duties;
• Other duties as assigned by the Director of Facilities.

Qualifications
