Job summary

Calumet, Inc. in Great Falls is seeking a Yardman/Laborer to safely perform basic operations and maintenance tasks at the Great Falls Refinery. This contingent, full-time role includes a one-year probation and benefits with a one-year probationary period.

The position requires lifting heavy loads, loading trucks and railcars, and performing various plant maintenance tasks while following safety rules and procedures. Training and compliance with Calumet values are integral to the role.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Willing to work 12-hour rotating shifts including weekends.
• Outdoor work in all weather conditions.
• Ability to lift 75+ pounds.
• Must pass pre-employment screenings.

PURPOSE:

The Yardman/Laborer position will be responsible for safely performing the basic tasks required for operations and maintenance of the facility at the Great Falls Refinery. This is a contingent position with full time hours and benefits with a one (1) year probationary period.

KEY OBJECTIVES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Follow proper safety rules and operating procedures to support zero tolerance safety objectives.
• Lifting continuously throughout the day
• Loading trucks and railcars with product
• Various maintenance duties throughout the plant
• Operating a variety of equipment in accordance with all policies, regulations, and safety procedures
• Working in diverse environments such as confined spaces, heights, and storage tanks
• Complete and maintain required daily paperwork
• Assist refinery personnel as directed

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCES:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Must be able to work in a rotating (days/nights)12-hour shift to include weekends, holidays and overtime as necessary (Hands On) outside in all weather conditions.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to lift, push, and pull 75 or more pounds
• Able to climb on and off towers, ascend and descend ladders, and should not have a fear of heights
• Occasionally work in areas outside of normal duties as required
• Ability to wear a respirator as needed for tasks

COMPETENCIES:

• 3-5 years of industrial experience preferred
• Ability to follow written and/or verbal instructions
• Environmental & Safety awareness
• Cooperates and works well with others in either one-on-one or group situations
• Contributes actively to team objectives, takes on responsibilities and is responsible for actions
• Ability to pass pre-employment screenings, including aptitude tests, drug screen and background check
