Job summary

Tague Lumber is seeking a dependable Yardman to join our Doylestown team. This outdoor, fast-paced role focuses on safety, service, and agility as you load, unload, and move materials.

You will operate forklifts, keep the yard organized, and support shipping and receiving tasks while upholding company safety procedures. Ideal candidates have customer service experience, a strong work ethic, and the ability to lift 60–100 lbs regularly.

Qualifications

• Experience in a customer service or team-based environment.
• Forklift experience preferred.
• Familiarity with building materials preferred.
• Ability to safely lift 60–100 lbs regularly and climb ladders or stairs.
• Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
• Strong attention to safety and detail.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to pass a background check, physical, and drug screening.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do

As a Yardman, you will play a key role in ensuring customers receive the materials they need safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities include:

• Greeting customers and assisting with loading and unloading materials
• Operating equipment such as forklifts safely and effectively
• Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe yard environment
• Order picking, wrapping products, packing, labeling shipping and receiving
• Packaging finished product for shipping (shrink wrapping, boxing, labeling)
• Following all company policies and safety procedures
• Supporting general yard and warehouse operations as needed

Work Environment

This position is based in an active warehouse and outdoor yard setting. The role involves frequent physical activity including lifting (including overhead), walking, bending, standing, and carrying materials. Employees should be comfortable working in all weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.

Machines/Tools/Equipment

Forklifts, hand trucks, small power saws, banding equipment (used to wrap banding around building materials, wrap, tighten and then push down to secure banding).
