PURPOSE

Under direct supervision, performs a variety of yard activities including operating a forklift to move product and material throughout the yard. Provides customer service to customers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Assists customers in locating and loading products.
2. Reviews loaded materials against invoice or requisition; completes and routes paperwork appropriately.
3. Moves products/materials throughout the yard, ensuring correct placement.
4. Ensures inventory is well-stocked at all times.
5. Performs routine yard cleanup.
6. Follows all safety procedures and practices to prevent injuries; attends safety meetings; may suggest safety improvements.
7. Performs other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

High school diploma or GED and at least six months' experience performing similar tasks, or equivalent training, education, and experience.

COMPETENCIES

1. Ability to operate motorized and non-motorized material handling equipment.
2. Knowledge of safety procedures.
3. Knowledge of company products and inventory.
4. Ability to understand and follow detailed instructions.
5. Ability to read and interpret invoices and requisitions.

WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL ACTIVITY

Primarily outdoor yard work, subject to weather, noise, and dust. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 80 pounds occasionally. Must be able to operate forklift equipment physically.
