Job summary

Tindell's, Inc. is seeking a Yard / Warehouse Team Member & Forklift Operator to safely operate forklifts, load and unload building materials, and keep the yard organized in the Halls area near Knoxville.

You will support customers and crews with timely material pickups and accurate order loading, while maintaining safety standards. This full-time role offers weekly pay, competitive starting pay, and benefits to help you build a long-term career with East Tennessee’s industry leader in building

Qualifications

• Forklift operation experience in lumberyard/warehouse/industrial environments.
• Ability to lift 50–100 lbs repeatedly with proper technique.
• Strong basic math, reading and writing skills to process orders and daily logs.
• Reliable team player with strong communication and positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts to load, unload, and organize materials across yard and warehouse.
• Assist builders and walk-in customers with material pickups and order loading.
• Double-check delivery orders for accuracy and help process returns.
• Maintain yard cleanliness, organization, and safety checks on equipment.
• Collaborate with supervisors and yard crews to keep daily operations moving smoothly.

Yard / Warehouse Team Member & Forklift Operator

Pay: $16.00 / hour

What You'll Do

Drive Operations: Safely operate forklifts to load, unload, and organize building materials across the yard and warehouse.

Support Customers & Crews: Assist builders and walk-in customers with fast, accurate material pickups and order loading.

Ensure Quality & Accuracy: Double-check delivery orders for complete accuracy and assist with processing returned inventory.

Maintain Safety & Standards: Keep the yard clean, organized, and secure while completing daily equipment pre-operation safety checks.

Team Collaboration: Work directly with supervisors and yard crews to keep daily operations moving efficiently.

What We're Looking For

Experience: Hands-on forklift operating experience in a lumberyard, warehouse, or industrial environment.

Physical Capability: Ability to safely lift and carry 50-100 lbs repeatedly, using proper lifting techniques.

Essential Skills: Strong basic math, reading, and writing skills to process orders and complete daily logs.

Communication & Mindset: Reliable team player with strong communication skills and an energetic, positive attitude.

Requirements: Ability to pass a mandatory pre-employment drug screening.
