Amazon is seeking a Transportation Associate in Oakley, CA to perform yard trailer moves, coordinate yard activities, and support site operations. You may train for CDL and related procedures while ensuring safety and timely trailer movements.

Qualifications

• Hold a valid and active driver’s license.
• High School or equivalent diploma.
• Candidates must be 21 years or older with the ability to understand and adhere to all job requirement and safety guidelines in English.
• Can lift up to 49 pounds, stand and walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, reach and ascend/descend stairs.
• Work 40 hours/week, and overtime as required.
• Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays.

Responsibilities

• Make safety a priority by adhering to company rules and regulations.
• Perform various functions within the yard, support site operations teams and external carriers to ensure trailers arrive and depart on time.
• Be trained to operate Commercial Motor Vehicles on non-public roads or in yard to move trailers to/from dock and parking locations.
• Learn DOT regulations and comply with company policies and procedures.
• Complete driver vehicle inspection reports and notify managers of issues.
• Follow hostler and delivery schedules and report working hours and breaks in compliance with policy.
• Support the business by serving as a peer trainer and/or working at nearby site locations.
• Drive, maneuver, and load/unload a truck using approved equipment.
