Job summary

Amazon is hiring Transportation Associates in the United States for yard operations, trailer moves, and coordination with internal teams and carriers. You will follow safety policies, learn DOT regulations, and perform inspections while supporting on-site operations across multiple vehicle types.

Qualifications

• Hold a valid and active driver’s license.
• High School or equivalent diploma.
• Candidates must be 21 years or older with the ability to understand and adhere to all job requirement and safety guidelines in English.
• Can lift up to 49 pounds, stand and walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, reach and ascend/descend stairs.
• Work 40 hours/week, and overtime as required.
• Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays.
• Preferred: Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
• Completion of CDL coursework (Career Choice CDL Course)

Responsibilities

• Make safety a priority by adhering to company rules and regulations.
• Perform various functions within the yard, support site operations teams, internal transportation field teams, and external carriers to ensure on-time trailer movements.
• Be trained to operate CMVs on non-public roads or in yard to move trailers to/from dock and parking locations.
• Learn DOT regulations and comply with company policies and DOT procedures.
• Complete driver vehicle inspection reports and notify managers of issues.
• Follow schedules and report hours/breaks per policy and regulations.
• Support the business by training peers or working at nearby sites as needed.
• Drive, maneuver, and load/unload a truck using approved equipment (pallet jack).
