Job summary

Shenandoah Valley Organic, LLC is seeking a Yard Driver/Jockey to move trailers and containers around our yard and shipping areas, supporting logistics and production. A valid Class A Virginia CDL and DOT/OSHA compliance are required.

You will operate yard trucks and forklifts as needed, perform heavy outdoor labor, and maintain accurate logs. This full-time, 2nd shift role is on-site at our facilities with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Must possess current Class A Virginia CDL.
• MVR +5 required.
• Must complete CDL background application.
• Able to perform general labor outdoors in varying weather.
• Able to safely drive yard trucks and containers.
• Maintain logs and records as required by law.
• Follow DOT, OSHA, safety, health, environmental requirements.
• Ensure equipment is in safe operating condition.
• Establish cooperative working relationships.
• Work assigned days/shifts including some weekends.
• Lift up to 50 pounds.
• Reach above shoulder level.
• Perform broad physical tasks (climbing, bending, etc.).
• Perform essential functions with/without accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Drive trucks around yard switching empty/full containers.
• Move trailers to support shipping, receiving, production, logistics.
• Transport trailers requiring maintenance to repair providers.
• Implement weather countermeasures on live poultry equipment.
• Housekeeping of trailers and tractors.
• Operate forklift when necessary.
• Maintain logs and records as required by law/company policy.
• Ensure equipment meets DOT/OSHA standards.
• Follow safety, health, environmental procedures.
• Establish cooperative relationships with team, supervisors, vendors.
• Perform general outdoor labor in various weather conditions.
• Perform heavy physical tasks as needed.
• Other tasks as assigned.
