Job summary

Wilbert’s Premium Auto Parts in Webster, NY is seeking a Recycled Parts Specialist to locate, identify, and safely remove parts from recycled vehicles in our salvage yard.

Responsibilities include locating parts per work orders, manual duties, using lifts and tools, ensuring quality and proper QA, and maintaining a clean, safe work environment while following safety policies.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• High school diploma or GED; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience or knowledge in the automotive industry.
• Valid driver’s license. Forklift certification. Training and certification available.

Responsibilities

• Locate the vehicle part designated on the work order or sales invoice and ensure description matches.
• Entry level mechanic duties.
• Remove parts from vehicles for work orders within time constraints; may use lifts, forklifts, torches, power wrenches, power saws.
• Verify part quality and report discrepancies using the ARA part system.
• Ensure parts pulled are clean and brought to Quality Control for QA.
• Move vehicles and parts without damage to property or people.
• May operate forklifts or heavy machinery after certification.
• Have own tools; some provided by Wilbert's.
• Familiarity with smartphone technology.
• Maintain assigned company lot vehicle.
• May section vehicles to customer specifications.
• Follows all safety policies and procedures.

Job Description:

The Recycled Parts Specialist is Responsible for accurately locating, identifying and safely removing parts from recycled vehicles in the Salvage yard.

Duties and Responsibilities.

• Locate the vehicle part that is designated on the work order or sales invoice and ensure the description matches the merchandise description.*
• Entry level mechanic duties
• Remove parts from vehicles for work orders within suggested time constraints in a safety conscious manner; may use lifts, forklifts, torches, power wrenches, power saws.*
• Verify the quality of parts and report any discrepancies utilizing the Automotive Recycling Association (ARA) part system and guidelines.*
• Ensure that all parts pulled are clean and brought to the Quality Control department for Quality assurance.*
• Move vehicles and parts without damaging vehicles, parts, property or injuring personnel.*
• May be required to operate certain types of forklifts or heavy machinery after appropriate certification.*
• You are expected to have your own tools. Some will be provided by Wilberts.
• Familiarity with smartphone technology.
• Maintenance of assigned company lot vehicle is expected.
• May be responsible for the safe and accurate sectioning of vehicles to customer specifications.
• Follows all safety policies and procedures.*

Qualifications

Language Ability:

Education/Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience or knowledge in the automotive industry.

Certificates and Licenses

Valid driver’s license. Forklift certification. Training and certification available.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands, and talk or hear. While doing this job the employee will be primarily on their feet for long periods of time.The employee is frequently required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. For heavier merchandise lifting devices and/or assistance is required.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and outdoor weather conditions. This is a smoke free environment for safety reasons.
