Job summary

Pepsi Bottling Ventures seeks a Warehouse Yard Switcher to safely move, position, and dock trailers within the yard and at dock doors in Winston-Salem, NC. The role supports Transportation, Production, and Warehouse operations and may include related tasks as needed.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license (CDL-A preferred), and at least 6 months of yard switching experience. Strong computer and HMI skills and the ability to work extended shifts are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license required; CDL Class A preferred.
• At least 6 months of verifiable yard switching or tractor-trailer experience.
• Basic computer and HMI skills.
• Ability to pass PBV Yard Switcher Training and Skills Test.
• Ability to climb/enter/exit the Yard Switcher Cab.
• Ability to work extended shifts as needed.
• Good recordkeeping and written/verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Spot, move, and position trailers between docks and yard locations.
• Demonstrate safe backing with blind-side and tight-space maneuvers.
• Ensure trailers are dock-ready and properly secured.
• Maintain orderly trailer placement to optimize yard flow.
• Report mechanical or safety concerns after daily inspections.
• Operate yard switcher tractors safely per PBV policies and OSHA requirements.
• Exercise stop-work authority when unsafe conditions exist.
