Job summary

FedEx Group in Charlotte, NC is seeking a yard switcher to move trailers between yards and doors, load/unload packages by hand when necessary, and keep operations safe and efficient. You will coordinate trailer movements, perform pre/post trip checks, and document movements using yard system.

CDL A and DOT compliance are required; candidates should be able to work in a fast-paced team. This on-site role starts at the FedEx location HTNC/266 with five days per week schedule; E-Verify and equal

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain a DOT file.
• CDL (Class A) required to operate in interstate commerce.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions for duties and safety.
• Ability to sort packages correctly and use basic tools.

Responsibilities

• Move trailers between yards and doors, including hookups.
• Communicate with management to coordinate trailer movements.
• Document trailer moves using yard management system or switcher cards.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections on switcher equipment.
• Adhere to yard switching safety processes and procedures.
