Responsibilities

• Performs trailer switches defined as hooking and moving a parked trailer from the yard to a load/unload door or from a door to the yard.
• Communicates with management to coordinate trailer movements in the yard.
• Documents trailer moves using yard management systems or switcher cards.
• Performs pre- and post-trip inspections on switcher equipment.
• Loads and unloads packages onto or from delivery vehicles and yard equipment.
• Sorts packages by reading labels and charts and by scanning.
• Operates with safe yard switching practices and performs related duties as assigned.
