Job summary

Qualifications

• No education required.
• Six (6) months of experience as a package handler or switching/CDL operator preferred.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain a DOT file.
• Ability to read labels and numbers to sort packages correctly.

Responsibilities

• Perform trailer switches by hooking and moving trailers between yard, doors, and yard.
• Coordinate trailer movements with management or central control.
• Document movements using Yard Management System or switcher cards.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections on switcher equipment.
• Adhere to yard switching safety procedures.
• May perform package handler duties: load/unload packages, use hand-held scanners, and sort items.
