Must operate forklifts and hand trucks; outdoor work in various weather; has DOT awareness and safety mindset. Position offers a steady 40-hour schedule with some overtime.

Qualifications

• Experience with freight logistics and shipping standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and package trailers, parts and accessories for safe transport.
• Load and unload using forklifts, pallet jacks, and heavy equipment.
• Label, bill of lading and packing slip documentation; coordinate with Shipping Coordinator.
• Inspect outgoing products for damage or defects before shipment.
• Assist with yard organization, inventory counts, and collaboration with production teams.

Join Our Team as Yard Staff / Shipping Associate at Interstate Group!

Looking for a fast-paced role where you keep operations moving? Interstate Group is hiring a Yard Staff / Shipping Associate to join our Shipping department. In this position, you’ll oversee the safe loading, packaging, and staging of finished trailers and components, ensuring every order hits the road accurately and on schedule.

Location: Nampa, ID

Schedule: Monday - Thursday 7am - 5:30pm, Friday overtime (As needed by plant) 7am - 12pm

What You’ll Do

• Prepare & Package: Secure and bundle trailers, parts, and accessories for safe transport according to company standards.
• Load & Unload: Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and heavy equipment to move inventory and load outbound shipments.
• Document & Coordinate: Ensure correct labeling, complete bills of lading and packing slips, and partner with the Shipping Coordinator to track deliveries.
• Quality Check: Inspect outgoing products for damage or defects before they leave the yard.
• Organize & Assist: Support inventory counts, organize material in the yard and warehouse, and collaborate with production teams.

What You’ll Need

• Huge Bonus if you're experience with Hyster Forklifts!
• Practical knowledge of freight logistics, load requirements, shipping standards, and basic DOT regulations.
• Hands-on equipment operation experience (forklifts, pallet jacks) in a manufacturing or yard environment.
• Strong multi-tasking and problem-solving skills to manage shifting schedules and carrier demands.
• Detail orientation to verify paper trails, part numbers, and shipping documentation.
• Physical ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, lift up to 50 lbs, climb, bend, and move continuously throughout the yard.
