Job summary

Carter Lumber Company is seeking a Yard Associate to help customers with selection and loading, pull and stage materials, and keep the yard organized. You will support contractors and DIYers, assist with inventory after cycles counts, and may operate a forklift with training provided.

This is a full-time, on-site position in a hands-on role that emphasizes teamwork, reliability, and a strong work ethic in an outdoor environment.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is required or preferred.
• Must be friendly and a good team player.
• Familiarity with building materials is helpful.
• Able to work outdoors in all conditions.

Responsibilities

• Assist contractors and DIYers with selection and loading of orders.
• Pull and stage materials for pickup or delivery.
• Help maintain yard inventory through cycle counts.
• Keep the yard organized and clean.
• Operate a forklift; training and certification available.

Description

You will assist contractors and do-it-yourselfers with the selection and loading of their order, pull and stage materials to be picked up and/or delivered, help maintain the inventory in the Yard by conducting cycle counts, and keep the Yard organized and clean. Equipment used includes a forklift and if youhaven't operated one previously, we will train youand help youattain certification.
