Job summary

Carter Lumber Company is seeking a motivated Yard Associate to assist contractors and DIY customers with order selection and loading. You will pull and stage materials for pickup or delivery, maintain yard inventory, and keep the yard organized for efficient operations.

As part of a hands-on, outdoor team, you’ll work in all weather and may receive forklift training and certification. Great opportunity for those who value hard work and teamwork in a growing company.

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A friendly personality helps in daily interactions.
• Being a team player is important for yard operations.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Familiarity with building materials is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Assist contractors and do-it-yourselfers with selection and loading of orders.
• Pull and stage materials for pickup or delivery.
• Help maintain yard inventory with regular cycle counts.
• Keep the yard organized and clean; operate a forklift (training provided).

Description

You will assist contractors and do-it-yourselfers with the selection and loading of their order, pull and stage materials to be picked up and/or delivered, help maintain the inventory in the Yard by conducting cycle counts, and keep the Yard organized and clean. Equipment used includes a forklift and if youhaven't operated one previously, we will train youand help youattain certification.
