Job summary

Carter Lumber is seeking hard-working individuals to join its yard and delivery team in Indiana. You will help contractors and DIY customers, load and stage materials, and assist with deliveries in the surrounding area. Training is provided for equipment and safety protocols.

Expect to handle a variety of building materials, work early hours, and maintain an organized yard while following DOT rules and licensing requirements. Full-time hours are typical.

Qualifications

• You must have customer service experience.
• Friendly personality and teamwork are essential.
• Ability to work outdoors in all conditions.
• Lift up to 100 lbs regularly.
• Indiana For Hire license or CDL preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist contractors and DIY customers with selection and loading.
• Pull and stage materials for pickup or delivery.
• Load and deliver windows, doors, trim, and other items to jobsites.
• Maintain inventory and keep the yard organized and clean.

Description

You will assist contractors and do-it-yourselfers with the selection and loading of their order, pull and stage materials to be picked up and/or delivered, help maintain the inventory in the Yard by conducting cycle counts, and keep the Yard organized and clean. Equipment used includes a forklift, various saws, and nail guns, if youhaven't operated these previously, we will train youand help youattain certification. This position would also serve as a back up driver for our non-CDL trucks. As needed, you would load and deliver windows, exterior doors, interior trim, interior doors, and other items to jobsites in the surrounding area. A For Hire (formerly chauffeurs) license or CDL, electronic logs, and observing all DOT regulations would be required. If you would like to further your current license we will assist you, and you will have opportunities to move into a full-time driving position in the future.
