Job summary

Carter Lumber Company in Columbia, SC, is seeking a friendly yard associate who enjoys working with a team, outdoors, and with your hands. You will assist contractors and do-it-yourselfers with selecting and loading orders, pulling and staging materials for pickup or delivery, and keeping the yard organized.

Training is provided for forklift operation, safety certifications, and you can grow with us. This full-time role includes benefits and opportunities to advance within a family-owned company

Qualifications

• Customer service experience required.
• Friendly personality and ability to work in a team.
• Familiarity with building materials helpful.
• Ability to work outdoors in all conditions.
• Forklift operation may be required; training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Assist contractors and DIYers with selection and loading.
• Pull and stage materials for pickup or delivery.
• Maintain inventory with cycle counts.
• Keep the yard organized and clean.
• Operate forklift or obtain certification through training.

Description

You will assist contractors and do-it-yourselfers with the selection and loading of their order, pull and stage materials to be picked up and/or delivered, help maintain the inventory in the Yard by conducting cycle counts, and keep the Yard organized and clean. Equipment used includes a forklift and if youhaven't operated one previously, we will train youand help youattain certification.
