Job summary

Ziegler CAT is hiring a full-time Yard & Shop Helper in Minnesota to keep the loading bay, shop, and yard neat and orderly. The role involves providing tools and materials to workers, cleaning areas and equipment, and assisting customers with loading and unloading parts and equipment.

The ideal candidate has a strong work ethic, good organizational and communication skills, and a team-oriented attitude. Safety is emphasized and a pre-employment drug test may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years experience in shop or yard, operating equipment and forklifts.
• Dependable, self-starter, and hard-working.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Team-player and willing to help wherever needed.
• Maintains safe and organized work area.
• Able to operate required equipment safely (examples include forklift, sprayers, equipment).
• This role is deemed safety-sensitive and will be subject to a drug test as a pre-employment requirement.

Responsibilities

• Transfers tools, components, parts, equipment and supplies to and from work stations and other areas.
• Assists with shop and facility clean up and maintenance.
• Ships and receives components on nightly shuttle trucks.
• Provides assistance to other departments as requested.
• Promptly greets and assist customers in the yard and loading bay.
• Safely loads and unloads customer trucks and pick-ups.
• Maintains a clean and orderly loading bay area at all times.
• Cleans and maintains component washers.
• Cleans equipment using proper equipment.
• Cleans and maintains grounds, parking lots, and other areas, as assigned.
• Cleans and maintains large steam room and/or wash bay.
• Works in a cooperative manner with team and superiors.
