Job summary

Ziegler Caterpillar is hiring a full-time Yard & Shop Helper in Minnesota to support our shops. You will maintain a neat loading bay and yard, provide tools and supplies to workers, assist customers with loading and unloading parts, and keep work areas clean and organized.

Starting pay ranges from $25.00 to $34.00 per hour, with adjustments based on skills, experience and location. Full-time benefits include health/dental/vision, PTO, holidays, 401(k), HSA contributions, disability coverage,

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required
• 2+ years experience required in shop or yard, operating equipment and forklifts
• Dependable, self-starter, and hard-working
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Team-player and willing to help wherever needed
• Maintains safe and organized work area
• Able to operate required equipment safely (examples include forklift, sprayers, equipment)
• This role is deemed safety-sensitive and will be subject to a pre-employment drug test

Responsibilities

• Transfers tools, components, parts, equipment and supplies to and from work stations and other areas
• Assists with shop and facility clean up and maintenance
• Ships and receives components on nightly shuttle trucks
• Provides assistance to other departments as requested
• Promptly greets and assist customers in the yard and loading bay
• Safely loads and unloads customer trucks and pick-ups
• Maintains a clean and orderly loading bay area at all times
• Cleans and maintains component washers
• Cleans equipment using proper equipment
• Cleans and maintains grounds, parking lots, and other areas, as assigned
• Cleans and maintains large steam room and/or wash bay
• Works in a cooperative manner with team and superiors
