Job summary

Rail Modal Group LLC is hiring a Driver for the Fremont Operations team. The Driver transports containers within the facility using shag trucks, ensuring safe and efficient movement of cargo while communicating clearly with team members.

The role requires at least 1 year of tractor trailer experience, the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work in all weather, and perform daily pre-trip inspections. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential to keep yard operations running smoothly.

Qualifications

• Highschool diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum 1 year experience driving a tractor trailer.
• Organizational skills and ability to follow instructions.
• Effective verbal communication and communication over the phone.
• Ability to occasionally lift over 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions.
• Ability to push and pull up to 80 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to ascend and descend ladders.

Responsibilities

• Safely and effectively operate a shag truck with or without a chassis/container.
• Execute work instructions and communicate progress over the radio or on a tablet.
• Develop an understanding of the yard layout and decking strategy.
• Actively search for, identify, and communicate safety or maintenance issues.
• Conduct daily pre-trip inspections on the equipment you intend to drive.
• Apply seals and bulkheads to containers and document the process.
