Job summary

Garney is seeking a Superintendent to lead daily self-perform yard piping operations on water and wastewater projects, directing crews and coordinating field activities.

This role emphasizes safety, leadership, and effective collaboration with Project Managers, Engineers, inspectors, and trades to ensure on-time, compliant project delivery.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• 5+ years of underground utility or heavy civil construction, with leadership as Foreman or Superintendent.
• Experience leading self-perform yard piping or underground utility crews.
• Water/wastewater treatment plant experience preferred.
• Ability to read construction drawings and project schedules.

• Negotiate and purchase materials.
• Maintain as-built documents.
• Act as owner and architect/engineer contact.
• Verify and provide inventory analysis.

What We Are Looking For

• 5+ years of underground utility, process piping, or heavy civil construction experience with leadership experience as a Foreman or Superintendent.
• Experience leading self-perform yard piping or underground utility crews.
• Water/wastewater treatment plant experience preferred.
• Ability to read construction drawings, utility layouts, and project schedules.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork, with willingness to travel as needed.
