Job summary

Garney Construction is seeking a Superintendent to lead daily yard piping operations on water and wastewater projects. You will supervise crews, coordinate schedules, and ensure safe, on-time completion in alignment with project specs.

The role requires a Civil Engineering or Construction Management degree (or related experience) with 5+ years in underground utility or heavy civil construction and proven leadership.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• 5+ years of underground utility, process piping, or heavy civil construction leadership.
• Experience leading self-perform yard piping or underground utility crews.
• Water/wastewater treatment plant experience preferred.
• Ability to read construction drawings, utility layouts, and project schedules.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork, with willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily self-perform yard piping operations on water and wastewater projects.

• Collaborate with Project Managers, Engineers, inspectors, and other trades to resolve field issues.
• Mentor and develop field crews while promoting a strong safety culture.
• Negotiate and purchase materials
• Maintain as-built documents
• Act as owner and architect/engineer contact
• Verify and provide inventory analysis
• Survey construction job site
