Job summary

CRH is hiring a Yard Person to support the Preferred Materials yard operations in Florida. You will handle loading/unloading, maintain inventory, and ensure safe, organized, efficient material handling across the yard.

The role emphasizes adherence to safety policies and OSHA guidelines. Ideal candidates have at least 1 year of construction experience, can operate basic tools and power equipment, and are prepared for flexible schedules including nights or weekends if required.

Qualifications

• 1 year of construction or related experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate instructions and work safely.
• Willingness to travel to other company facilities if needed.

Responsibilities

• Load customer vehicles and unload materials.
• Assist with inventory control and ensure yard cleanliness.
• Operate power equipment safely and perform routine maintenance.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

• Loads customer vehicles and unload incoming materials.
• Assists with the control of inventory.
• Moves materials safely and maintains cleanliness and organization of the yard.
• Safely operates power equipment.
• Greases bearings and gates on the plant and required e15quipment.
• Makes visual inspection of the plant for proper operation.
• Performs general clean-up and maintenance duties as assigned.
• Maintains a strict adherence to company policies, safety policies, and OSHA regulations at all times.
• Possesses a professional attitude while interacting with peers, contractors and general public.
• Must be available to travel and work from other company facilities as needed.
• Must possess a professional attitude while interacting with peers, contractors and general public.
• Stands for long periods of time performing tests in hot weather or current conditions
• May perform other related duties as required or directed. Including to travel and work from other company facilities as needed

Requirements

• Ability to communicate, understand, and follow both written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to use basic hand tools.
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
• Must be willing to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays when necessary. Regular and timely attendance is required.
• Must pass pre-employment requirements, drug screen, criminal background check and driving record review.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Must demonstrate a strong commitment to safety.

Qualifications

Minimum of 1 year of construction or relevant experience is preferred.
