Job summary

Mack Industries in White Lake, Michigan is seeking a dependable Yard Operator to support daily operations at our precast concrete plant. This role safely moves, loads, unloads, and stages precast products and materials.

You will operate forklifts, loaders, overhead cranes, and other material-handling equipment, transport materials between production, storage, and shipping, and assist with loading customer and supplier trucks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience with heavy equipment or material-handling preferred.
• Experience with forklifts, loaders, cranes, or rigging is a plus.
• Experience in precast concrete, concrete, construction, manufacturing, steel, asphalt, aggregate, or similar industries preferred.

Responsibilities

• Load, unload, move, and stage precast concrete products and raw materials.
• Operate large-format forklifts, loaders, overhead bridge cranes, chain hoists, and other material-handling equipment.
• Safely transport materials between production, storage, and shipping areas.
• Assist with loading and unloading customer and supplier trucks.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and report maintenance needs.
• Clean and maintain equipment and keep the yard organized.
• Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements.
• Work with production, yard, and shipping teams to keep materials moving efficiently.
• Maintain dependable attendance and flexibility to support production needs.

Mack Industries is looking for a dependable and safety-focused Yard Operator to support daily operations at our White Lake, Michigan precast concrete plant. This role is responsible for safely moving, loading, unloading, and staging precast products and raw materials throughout the yard and plant.

What You'll Do

• Load, unload, move, and stage precast concrete products and raw materials.
• Operate large-format forklifts, loaders, overhead bridge cranes, chain hoists, and other material-handling equipment.
• Safely transport materials between production, storage, and shipping areas.
• Assist with loading and unloading customer and supplier trucks.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and report maintenance needs.
• Clean and maintain equipment and keep the yard organized.

• Perform other duties as assigned by the Yard Supervisor.

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous heavy equipment or material-handling experience preferred.
• Experience with forklifts, loaders, cranes, or rigging is a plus.
• Experience in precast concrete, concrete, construction, manufacturing, steel, asphalt, aggregate, or similar industries is preferred.
• Strong commitment to safety and teamwork.
• Ability to safely follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to work outdoors year-round in varying weather conditions.

Work Environment

This is a hands-on, outdoor position in an active precast concrete plant. You should be comfortable working in varying weather conditions and around concrete dust, noise, heavy machinery, and active production operations.

The role requires the ability to safely operate and enter/exit heavy equipment, climb steps and platforms, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
