Job summary

Hoffman Energy is seeking a Yard Operator to support daily depot operations. The role involves yard maintenance, tank filling, inventory control and assistance with deliveries. A valid CDL with Tanker and Hazmat endorsements is required, with overtime possible during busy periods.

Excellent organization, attention to detail, and strong communication are essential. This is a part-time on-site role based in Danbury/Trumbull area with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Overtime availability weekly and on weekends as needed.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet company policy.
• Skillful use of hand and power tools.

Responsibilities

• Maintain yard and keep it clean at all times.
• Fill propane tanks and pull parts; load tank trucks.
• Maintain inventory and warehouse; assist with depot operations.
• Delivery of equipment to field personnel; courier tasks.
• Assist with documentation and annual inventories.
• Engage in spill response as required; basic maintenance tasks.

The pay rate for an experienced Yard Operator is up to $24 per hour.

The preferred candidate for this position must have a valid CDL with Tanker and Hazmat endorsements.

As a Yard Operator you will assist with the daily operations of our depot grounds. Therefore, you will need to be well organized and diligent. Responsibilities:

As Yard Operator, you will be responsible for maintaining the yard, filling tanks, maintaining inventory and more.

Specific duties include:

• Maintain yard and keep clean at all times
• Maintain inventory and warehouse
• Building maintenance and light landscaping duties
• Fill propane tanks and pull parts
• Loading tank trucks and documentation associated
• Spill response team member
• Delivery of equipment to other field personnel
• Courier work, post office, parts pick up
• Involvement in counting annual van and warehouse inventories
• Other miscellaneous duties as needed

Requirements:

As a Yard Operator, you will combine organizational skills with a personable, approachable and helpful personality. You must also be highly detail oriented and focused with a flexible and adaptable nature. It is also important that you display excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.

• Valid driver's license and ability to meet the company's motor vehicle policy
• Must be skilled using hand and power tools
• Must be able to work independently while safely maintaining a high level of performance
