Job summary

U.S. Shoring & Equipment in Dallas, TX, is seeking a Yard Operations Manager to lead the yard and rental fleet, ensure equipment is clean, inspected, and ready, and uphold safety standards.

The role focuses on developing people, coordinating with rental coordinators, and delivering reliable equipment to customers, with a hands-on leadership style and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Previous leadership experience in equipment rental, construction, or related field.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Experience leading teams while maintaining high standards.
• Mechanical aptitude with familiarity with construction equipment.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Valid Driver's License required.
• Forklift and heavy equipment experience preferred.
• Strong computer and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop the yard team through daily direction and accountability.
• Plan and prioritize daily workloads to ensure equipment is ready when customers need it.
• Maintain a clean, organized, professional yard that reflects company standards.
• Ensure all rental equipment is inspected, cleaned, repaired when necessary, and prepared to Rent Ready standards.
• Oversee equipment check-in and check-out procedures, documenting damage and communicating repair needs promptly.
• Work closely with Rental Coordinators, Sales, Service, Drivers, and Management to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Monitor fleet condition and work with the service department to minimize downtime.
• Enforce company safety policies and lead by example.
• Conduct daily yard walks and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Promote a culture built on accountability, teamwork, communication, and continuous improvement.
• Support customers by ensuring timely loading, unloading, and equipment staging.
