Job summary

Builders FirstSource is seeking an experienced Yard Foreman in Anchorage to lead daily yard operations at our port distribution center. You will supervise yard staff, coordinate loading/unloading, and ensure safe, accurate handling of materials in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate has strong leadership, forklift experience, and a solid track record in inventory control and customer service. This role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and operational excellence in outdoor conditions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Four or more years coordinating yard, warehouse or material-handling activities.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities directing work crews in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience operating forklifts and material-handling equipment.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily yard operations and coordinate yard personnel for safe, efficient, productive operations.
• Supervise loading, unloading, storage and movement of materials using forklifts and other equipment.
• Oversee receiving, storage and inventory practices to ensure accuracy.
• Provide hands-on leadership by assisting with yard operations when needed and training new staff.
• Assist customers with load building and provide information on inventory and delivery status.
• Maintain safety by enforcing policies and conducting regular yard inspections and safety meetings.
