Job summary

Satellite Shelters, Inc. is seeking a motivated, hands-on Yard Supervisor to lead daily yard operations at our Detroit-area branch opening in early November.

The role requires balancing supervisory duties with hands-on work to keep operations running efficiently and safely. The ideal candidate will coordinate personnel, equipment, and yard activities in a fast-paced environment, ensuring repaired and ready-for-rent units meet Satellite’s quality standards.

Qualifications

• This position requires a high school diploma and 4+ years of related experience in yard or maintenance roles.
• Experience directing a team and directing work from a plan.
• Strong organizational and safety-minded approach.
• Ability to collaborate with team members to accomplish tasks.
• Attention to detail and thoroughness.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor fleet schedule and repairs.
• Assign tasks to yard personnel for cleaning, repair, delivery, and maintenance.
• Order parts and manage inventory to ensure availability.
• Ensure units are cleaned, repaired, and refurbished per policy.
• Supervise yard personnel and drivers in daily activities.
• Prepare units for rental and perform repairs/modifications as needed.
• Interface with customers at job sites.
• Maintain safety policies and programs for the team.
• Perform duties as assigned.
