Job summary

Vossloh is seeking a dependable Yard Worker to organize and move materials in our railyard. You will load/unload, operate forklifts, and maintain inventory while following safety protocols in a busy industrial setting.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, prior yard or warehouse experience, and the ability to work varied shifts in different weather conditions. Steel-toe boots and PPE are required for all staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in a yard, warehouse, or manufacturing setting is preferred.
• Ability to operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment (certification preferred).

Responsibilities

• Organize and maintain yard materials, including concrete ties, equipment, and tools.
• Assist with loading and unloading materials from trucks and other vehicles.
• Operate forklifts and other machinery to move materials within the yard.
• Perform routine yard maintenance such as cleaning, stacking, and organizing items.
• Monitor inventory levels and report shortages or issues to the supervisor.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and protocols
• Assist with other general labor tasks as needed
• Can work varied shifts with changing seasons
• Secure loads on top of railcars using load binders and chains
