Job summary

The Macomb Group, Inc. is seeking a Yard Loader/Picker Packer to join our warehouse team in Akron, OH. You will select items from inventory, prepare orders, and pack them securely for shipment, contributing to on-time deliveries.

Responsibilities include operating heavy-duty front-end loaders to move and stockpile materials, performing daily equipment checks, loading trucks safely, and maintaining a clean, organized work area while following safety regulations.

Qualifications

  • Three to six months related experience and/or training required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Yard Loader/Picker Packer

SUMMARY

Selecting items from inventory, preparing orders, and packing them for shipment. Responsible for operating heavy-duty front-end loaders to move, load, and stockpile materials.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES
  • Operate loaders to move and load bulk materials
  • Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance
  • Load trucks accurately and safely
  • Maintain warehouse cleanliness and assist with plant operations
  • Follow all safety regulations and communicate effectively with drivers and coworkers
  • Pick items according to order sheets
  • Pack products securely and label packages correctly
  • Verify order accuracy and report any discrepancies
  • Maintain clean and organized work area
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Three to six months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. High school diploma or equivalent referred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group interactions to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
