Job summary

Builders FirstSource, Inc. in Spartanburg, SC is hiring a Loader/Unloader to perform routine material handling in yards and on job sites with safety and efficiency at the forefront.

You will read work orders, assemble loads, use forklifts and hand tools, and ensure correct labeling and secure delivery to customer sites. A high school diploma or GED, three months of related experience, and forklift certification are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and three (3) months experience performing these or similar tasks.
• Forklift certification required.
• Ability to read and write to handle work orders and labeling tasks.

Responsibilities

• Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trucks or customer vehicles and installs strapping, bracing or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit.
• Performs load-building, determining the appropriate weight, composition, and placement of load based on customer order and capacity of delivery vehicle to ensure load is balanced.
• Conveys materials to or from storage to designated area using hand truck, electric dolly, forklift or other device.
